Spectacle Lens

A spectacle lens is a lens worn in front of the eye, mainly used to correct Myopia (Nearsightedness), Hyperopia (Farsightedness) Astigmatism (Abnormal curvature of the cornea).

GKB provides:

1. Single Vision lens:

The term single vision lenses refers to a lens that has only one use, either to see objects in the distance, or for reading (reading glasses).Single vision lenses have the same focal power throughout (top to bottom) and can be used to correct nearsightedness, farsightedness, astigmatism, or a combination of these disorders.

2. Bifocal lenses lens:

Bifocal lenses have two parts: the upper part normally used for distance vision and the lower part used for near-vision tasks such as reading. Many people after reaching age 45 develop a condition called presbyopia, which is deterioration in the ability of the eye's natural lens to expand or contract in order to focus on close objects.

3. Progressive spectacle lenses:

Progressive spectacle lenses are characterised by a gradient of increasing lens power, added to the wearer's correction for the other refractive errors. The gradient starts at the wearer's distance prescription, at the top of the lens and reaches a maximum addition power, or the full reading addition, at the bottom of the lens.

4. Sports lenses:

Sports eyewear serves two functions -- to improve vision and to protect against eye injuries. Sports frames have rubber padding around the nose area and the sides where they come in contact with the head.
